It has been a hectic holiday season around our house and even more so, with the 3' of snow we have received over the last week. I was hoping to find a few more Geocaches before years end but sadly, because of the snow, it is not be. One good thing the snow has brought us, the opportunity to do some snowshoeing close to home. Molly and I have blazed several miles of trail in the powdery snow. Last night, with a new headlamp, I received at Christmas, Molly and I set out to discover a completely new world in our local park. It is amazing how different a familiar place can appear when trudging through the quiet, sparkling snow guided by a single beam of light. I am sometimes startled when I realize how huge a smile I have on my face doing stuff like this. I looking forward to another wonderful year of adventure and pray you have the same. Happy New Year!

After Church and an early dinner, Molly and I spent some time goofing off at Chatfield Dog Training area. Molly needed some space to run and run she did. For a few hours it was just the two of us hanging out.
A real good time!

Working in Falcon, CO. today and decided to find a cache on my drive home. I loaded a dozen caches into my Map60CSx so I could watch for a close one as I traveled. The lucky cache, "Blossom's Box" (GCT7YK). An easy find and a very full container. I traded a TB for a Geocoin that has traveled over 23,000 miles.

Molly and I had to get out and do something today as it's been so cold we haven't done much lately. Our first stop was the dog park at Redstone Park so Molly could burn off some excess energy, the second a Highlands Ranch Geocache or two. We found (GCZ5NJ) "Super Cache 3" and (GCYMNZ) "Spring Gulch Cache". It was only 32° at noon today but that's warm enough for us to Geocache.

While on our evening walk, Molly and I were startled by several large booms. At first I thought it might be gun shots but decided it must be some kind of large explosion. The area of the park we were in kept us from seeing any great distance and I could feel the concussion of each boom. As we moved up the hill I could see flashes of light reflected on the cloud cover coinciding with each explosion, I was very concerned and perplexed. At the top of the hill I finally saw what was going on. A winter fireworks show? We sat in the snow and watched fireworks for about ten minutes. Fun, but strange.
