Molly and I started our hiking season in earnest today by hitting the trail in Deer Creek Canyon Park. We decided to do the Red Mesa balloon loop not knowing what was in store for us. The last snow storm, just last week, brought down hundreds of trees in the forest. Many fell across the trail making our hike very interesting. In certain areas you couldn't walk more than 50 yards without dealing with an obstacle. Climbing over one then under the next for mile after mile became very strenuous and painful for myself. Molly on the other hand took to the challenge with great exuberance. Even with the added exercise it was truly a wonderful spring day to hike in the Colorado mountains. I can hardly wait until our next trip.

Found a Cache close to one of my jobs today. (GCX644) Lovin' it.. I also dropped off a Travel Bug I have had for a few weeks. With the weather warming up nicely, I have started to prepare our hiking equipment for the season. I am also in need of some new hiking boots and will be hitting the sales over the next few weeks. Spring is a wonderful time of year!

I searched out three Geocaches along the South Platte River in Thorton this afternoon.  I was in this part of town for a birthday party and was joined, for this hunt, by a few of the party goers. Found (GC11D6G) and (GC11D6Z) Riverdale02 &03, We also found (GCMT56) S Platte Cacher Hwy - Just a hole in the log. A beautiful spring afternoon for a walk and all had fun.

I found two "log only" caches on my way home from a job today. (GCQM84) Ralston's Discovery and (GC11EDT) Useless Cache. Oh, I found another micro cache last night in the parking lot at the mall (GCTNCP) Things That Start With "P". It was a "LPC", Light Post Cache: A small container hidden under the lamp post base. The first one of these I found was interesting. Now, Ho Hum.

Wow! I cant believe it's been a month since I last posted. I couldn't begin to expound on the "Life" adventures we have had over the last month, so I will summarize with some of the outdoor highlights.

To begin with, the snow that's been on the ground since December is finally gone. This makes Molly happy as we can now walk farther and with less trouble (and mud). Geocaching is much easier now being able to look for containers without digging in the snow. I've noticed more Robins and Redwing Black Birds foraging and singing the sun to sleep in the evenings; spring is finally here. Our evening walks are blessed with gorgeous sunsets.

Because of the long snowy winter our Geocaching has really suffered. Over the last few weeks I have cached whenever I have a few extra minutes. We have found: (GCYP6Q) Amulek's lunchtime cache, (GCYP6X) Did you check for pods?, (GCV2FG) AWKFCMCD??, (GC11AV5) Alli Cat's Cache, (GCPNBQ) The purple can, (GCTAF1) Bryce's Treasure, (GCZC2Q) Peanutbutter Cup, (GCZC2W) Jar Jar Binks. It's nice to be out caching again.

Molly and I have been able to spend more time at Chatfield State Park also. Molly, of course, looks forward to any outdoor activity.

I could write much more, but I think this catches me up for the most part.
